WordPress analytics without cookies.
Google Analytics sets cookies, which in the EU usually means a consent banner. Pieowl sets no cookies and doesn't store IP addresses. Add one script tag to your WordPress site and get pageviews, campaigns, events and funnels.

The problem
Why Google Analytics on WordPress creates work
Google Analytics is the default on many WordPress sites, but it brings extra work with it.
- 01
Cookies mean a consent banner
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies, such as _ga, to tell visitors apart. In the EU, that usually means asking for consent with a banner before tracking.
- 02
Reports that are hard to read
Simple questions, like which blog post brings the most signups, often mean building a custom report.
- 03
Pageviews, not behavior
Knowing how many people visited isn't enough. You want to know what they clicked, which forms they sent and where they left.
- 04
A lot of setup for a small site
Tags, goals and custom reports are a lot to manage when you just want to know how your site is doing.
What you get
Cookie-free analytics for WordPress
Pieowl gives WordPress site owners clear numbers without cookie headaches.
One script tag
There's no WordPress plugin. Paste the Pieowl script tag into your theme header, or use any plugin that adds code to the header. Page views start coming in right away.
Automatic page views
Every page, post and custom post type is counted, with referrer, campaign, country and device.
No cookies
Pieowl never sets a cookie and doesn't store IP addresses, so in many cases you don't need a consent banner for Pieowl analytics.
Click and form tracking
Add a data-track attribute to buttons and links, or call track for form sends. See which calls to action bring leads.
UTM campaign tracking
See which emails, ads and social posts bring visitors to your site, and which of them convert.
Small script
The tracker is about 3 KB gzipped and loads asynchronously, so it doesn't block your pages.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Common questions from WordPress site owners looking at Pieowl.
How do I install Pieowl on WordPress?
Paste the Pieowl script tag into your theme's header (a child theme is safest), or use any plugin that adds code to the header. Put it before the closing head tag. Page views start coming in right away.
Do I need a cookie banner with Pieowl?
Often not for analytics. Pieowl sets no cookies and stores nothing on your visitors' devices, so in many cases you don't need a consent banner for it. It depends on your country and the features you use: session replay needs consent, and some countries, like Germany, Poland and Ireland, have no exemption for analytics. Our docs page "Do you need a cookie banner?" has the details. Other plugins or embeds on your site may set cookies and need one too.
Is there a Pieowl WordPress plugin?
Not yet. The script tag works on any WordPress site, with any theme, and takes a minute to add.
Can I import my Google Analytics history?
No. Pieowl can import from Mixpanel, Amplitude and Umami, but not from Google Analytics. Many sites run both for a while, then switch.
Can I track WooCommerce sales?
Yes. Send a revenue event when an order is paid, for example from a WooCommerce order hook on your server. You'll see revenue next to each traffic source and campaign.
Will Pieowl slow down my WordPress site?
The script is about 3 KB gzipped and loads asynchronously, so it doesn't block your pages.
