The problem
Why SaaS teams outgrow their analytics
The tools SaaS teams start with either can't answer product questions or get expensive and complex as you grow.
- 01
Traffic tools don't answer product questions
Pageview analytics can't tell you which users finished onboarding, which features predict retention, or why trial-to-paid dropped last month.
- 02
Enterprise tools are built for analysts
Big product analytics platforms are powerful, but when a simple funnel takes half an hour to build, the team stops using data to decide.
- 03
Prices that are hard to predict
Some vendors hide prices or show several starting prices at once. Budgeting for analytics shouldn't need a sales call.
- 04
Data you can't take with you
If your data only lives in a vendor's cloud, leaving is hard. You want raw exports, any time.
What you get
The product analytics stack for SaaS
What your team needs to understand users, cut churn and grow.
Event tracking
Track any action: feature used, setting changed, plan upgraded. One line of code, from your web app, mobile app or backend.
Funnel analysis
Build funnels for signup, onboarding, activation and upgrade. See the step that loses the most people and fix it.
Retention analysis
Cohort retention shows whether users from week 1 are still active in week 8. Filter by plan, source or cohort.
User profiles
See every event a user sent since signup, their sessions and their revenue. Useful for support and for studying power users.
B2B groups
Put users into groups such as a company or workspace, and look at activity per account.
Cohorts
Save groups of users, by signup date, plan or behavior, and compare them across reports.
Revenue tracking
Send payments and renewals from your billing webhooks. See revenue per user and per acquisition channel.
Ask your AI
Ask Claude or Cursor which onboarding step loses the most trials. It gets the numbers from Pieowl over MCP.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Common questions from SaaS founders and product teams looking at Pieowl.
How is Pieowl different from Mixpanel for SaaS?
Pieowl covers the core: events, funnels, retention, cohorts, user profiles, replay and revenue, plus an MCP server for your AI assistant. Mixpanel offers more, like experiments and metric trees, and has a free plan with 1M events a month; its Growth plan shows $140 a month for about 1.5M events (checked October 2026). Pieowl Starter is $69 a month for 1M events and $89 for 2M.
Can Pieowl replace both Google Analytics and a product analytics tool?
For many SaaS teams, yes. Pieowl has web analytics, like pageviews, referrers and UTM campaigns, next to product analytics on the same data. Past Google Analytics data can't be imported.
How do I track trial-to-paid conversion?
Send a trial_started event at signup and a plan_upgraded event when someone pays. Build a funnel or a conversion report between them, and break it down by source or plan.
Does Pieowl support B2B accounts?
Yes. Identify each user with your user ID and put them into groups, such as their company or workspace. You can then look at members and activity per group, and filter reports by any property you send.
Can I take my data with me?
Yes. Export raw events through the API or to S3 or Google Cloud Storage at any time.
Can I switch from Mixpanel or Amplitude?
Yes. Pieowl can import your history from Mixpanel and Amplitude, and Umami too. The event model is similar, so moving your tracking calls is mostly renaming.
Can I track backend events?
Yes. Use the Node SDK or the HTTP API to send billing webhooks, background jobs and server events next to client events.
Is Pieowl GDPR-friendly?
Pieowl is built for GDPR: no cookies and no stored IP addresses. Your data is stored in our EU cloud. When you identify users, you decide what personal data to send.
