The problem
Why ecommerce analytics is hard
Online stores need clear answers about money. Many analytics setups make that harder than it should be.
- 01
Cookie banners stand between you and your data
Cookie-based analytics, like Google Analytics, sets cookies on every visit. Where consent is needed, people who say no aren't counted the normal way.
- 02
Revenue lives in a different tool
Your payment dashboard knows how much you sold. Your analytics knows where visitors came from. Joining the two often means spreadsheets.
- 03
Store reports show what, not why
You can see orders and sessions, but finding where shoppers leave between product page and payment usually needs a funnel.
- 04
Event-priced tools can get expensive
Stores send a lot of events. Product analytics priced for big companies can cost more than a small shop wants to spend.
What you get
What an online store needs
These features cover the path from first visit to paid order.
No cookies
Pieowl never sets a cookie and doesn't store IP addresses, so in many cases you don't need a consent banner for Pieowl analytics.
Revenue by channel
Send a revenue event when an order is paid. See revenue next to visits for each referrer, campaign, landing page, country and device.
Checkout funnels
Build a funnel from product page to cart to checkout to purchase. Break it down by device or campaign to see where buyers drop off.
Works on any store
Paste the script tag into a Shopify or WooCommerce theme, or into a custom Next.js or Astro store. Send purchases from your backend.
Customer profiles
Identify customers when they log in or buy. See their visits, events and total revenue on one profile.
Realtime view
Launch a sale or send an email and watch visitors arrive in the realtime view.
Session replay
Watch how shoppers use your product pages and checkout. Text and form fields are always hidden.
EU cloud
Your data is stored in the EU.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Common questions from store owners looking at Pieowl.
Can Pieowl replace Google Analytics for an online store?
For most store reporting, yes: traffic sources, UTM campaigns, conversion events, revenue and funnels. Pieowl adds retention, cohorts, customer profiles and session replay. Google Analytics is free and works closely with Google Ads, so stores that rely on Google's ad tools may keep it too. Past Google Analytics data can't be imported into Pieowl.
How do I install Pieowl on Shopify?
There's no Shopify app. Paste the Pieowl script tag into your theme's theme.liquid file, before the closing head tag. Page views start coming in right away. For purchases, send a revenue event from your backend when an order is paid. See our Shopify page for details.
How do I install Pieowl on WooCommerce?
There's no plugin. Add the script tag to your theme header, or use a plugin that adds code to the header. For purchases, send a revenue event when an order is paid, for example from a WooCommerce order hook on your server.
Does Pieowl work with Stripe Checkout?
Yes. When you create the checkout, read the visitor's device ID and store it in the session's metadata. When Stripe's webhook says the checkout is complete, send a revenue event with the amount and that device ID. The sale then links back to the visit.
Will I need a cookie banner with Pieowl?
Often not for analytics. Pieowl sets no cookies and stores nothing on your visitors' devices, so in many cases you don't need a consent banner for it. It depends on your country and the features you use: session replay needs consent, and some countries, like Germany, Poland and Ireland, have no exemption for analytics. Our docs page "Do you need a cookie banner?" has the details. Revenue sent from the browser counts as conversion measurement, so send purchases from your server or payment webhooks where you can. You may also need a banner for marketing pixels or other tools on your store.
Will Pieowl slow down my store?
The script is about 3 KB gzipped and loads asynchronously, so it doesn't block your pages. Session replay loads a separate recorder only if you turn it on.
How does Pieowl pricing compare to Mixpanel?
Mixpanel has a free plan with 1M events a month, and its pricing page shows $140 a month for about 1.5M events a month (checked October 2026). Pieowl Starter is $69 a month for 1M events and $89 for 2M, with every feature included. Mixpanel offers more, like experiments, if you need them.
Can I track several stores?
Yes. Give each store its own site in one team, or send all stores to one site with a store property and break reports down by it.
