Integrations: send your data where you work.
Push alerts into Slack, Discord or any webhook when the events you pick happen. Export raw events to S3 or Google Cloud Storage to keep your own copy.
- Slack, Discord & webhooks
- Trigger on events or funnels
- Custom payloads with JavaScript
- Slack
- Discord
- Webhook
- S3 export
The basics
What are integrations?
- 01Pick an integration
- 02Connect it
- 03Create a notification rule
- 04Events trigger actions
Integrations connect Pieowl to the rest of your tools. They let you get data out of Pieowl and into the places your team already uses.
There are two kinds.
1. Destinations for alerts. You connect a service, then attach it to a notification rule that fires when the conditions you set are met.
Example: you want a Slack message whenever someone signs up. You connect Slack, create a rule for signup events, and write a message like "New signup from {{country}}". Every new signup posts to your channel. No polling, no cron jobs, no glue code.
With webhooks, you can send the data to any URL: your own backend, or an automation tool that accepts webhooks. That lets you start workflows from real user behavior, like a welcome email after onboarding or a note to sales when someone hits a usage milestone. Rules can also fire when someone completes a funnel.
2. Data export. Send your raw events to Amazon S3 (or an S3-compatible store) or Google Cloud Storage as compressed JSON Lines files. From there you can load them into your own warehouse or keep them as a backup.
Available today:
- Slack: post messages to a channel when a rule fires
- Discord: the same, for Discord servers
- Webhooks: send to any URL with your own headers, and an optional JavaScript transform to shape the payload
- Amazon S3 / S3-compatible storage: export raw events to your bucket
- Google Cloud Storage: export raw events to your bucket
You can also get notified inside Pieowl or by email, without any integration.
Integrations on every plan
What you can do with integrations
From Slack alerts to a full copy of your events in your own bucket.
Slack & Discord alerts
Connect your Slack workspace or a Discord channel and get a message when a notification rule fires. Stay on top of signups and purchases without opening a dashboard.
Webhooks to any URL
Send event data to any HTTP endpoint: your own API or an automation tool. Add custom headers, for example for authentication.
JavaScript payload transforms
For event-based webhooks, write a small JavaScript function that gets the raw event and returns the shape you need. Rename fields, drop data or add values.
Pair with notification rules
Integrations fire through notification rules. One rule can trigger several integrations, and one integration can serve many rules.
Trigger on events or funnels
Rules can fire on specific events with property filters, or when someone completes a whole funnel, like finishing onboarding.
Export to S3 & Google Cloud Storage
Export raw events to Amazon S3, an S3-compatible store or Google Cloud Storage as gzipped JSON Lines. Load them into your warehouse or keep them as a backup.
Set up
How integrations work
Set up an integration in minutes, then let notification rules do the rest.
- 1
Pick an integration
Choose Slack, Discord, a webhook, S3 or Google Cloud Storage from the Integrations page of your site.
- 2
Connect it
Sign in to Slack, paste a Discord webhook URL, or enter your webhook URL and headers. For exports, add your bucket and credentials.
- 3
Create a notification rule
For alerts, create a rule that says when to fire, for example a page view where the path starts with /onboarding. Attach one or more integrations.
- 4
Events trigger actions
When an event matches a rule, Pieowl sends it to every attached integration. Exports run on their own once the bucket is connected.
Use cases
How teams use integrations
From team alerts to automation, integrations turn analytics into action.
Team alerts
Post to Slack or Discord when someone signs up or makes a big purchase. The whole team sees it without checking a dashboard.
Automation workflows
Send webhook payloads to an automation tool to send a welcome email, update a CRM or add a row to a spreadsheet, all from real user behavior.
Custom backend actions
Point a webhook at your own API to run your own logic when certain events happen, like crediting a referral.
Your own copy of the data
Export raw events to your S3 or Google Cloud Storage bucket. Load them into your warehouse for SQL analysis or keep them for the long term.

Works well with
Notifications
Notification rules decide when integrations fire. Set events, filters and message templates, then attach integrations.
Event tracking
Integrations run on the events you track. The richer your events, the more precise your triggers.
Funnels
Trigger integrations when someone completes a whole funnel, not just a single event.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about Pieowl integrations.
How do integrations and notifications work together?
Integrations are the destinations: a Slack channel, a Discord channel or a webhook URL. Notification rules are the triggers: when event X happens with filter Y. You attach integrations to rules, and when a rule fires, every attached integration gets the message.
Can I use webhooks with automation tools?
Yes. Create a webhook integration that points at the webhook URL your automation tool gives you. Use the JavaScript transform to shape the payload into the format it expects.
What does the JavaScript transform do?
It's a function that gets the raw event and returns a new version. You can rename fields, remove properties, add values or restructure the data. It runs before the webhook is sent. Transforms apply to event-based rules; funnel rules send the standard payload.
Can I export my raw events?
Yes. Connect an Amazon S3, S3-compatible or Google Cloud Storage bucket and Pieowl exports your raw events as gzipped JSON Lines files. You can also pull raw events through the export API.
Can one integration be used by several rules?
Yes. An integration is just a connection to a service. Attach it to as many rules as you need. For example, one Slack integration can post signups, purchases and errors, each with its own message and filters.
