How to authenticate with the Pieowl API
Client ID and secret
Pieowl uses client credentials. Every API client has a client ID and a client secret, which you create in the dashboard.
Send them as request headers:
pieowl-client-id: <clientId>
pieowl-client-secret: <secret>The base URL is https://api.pieowl.com.
API client types
| Type | What it can do |
|---|---|
write | Send events and profile updates |
read | Read analytics data (Insights, Export, Import) |
root | Full access, including the Manage API. Server use only. |
Create a client
In the dashboard, go to Settings → Developers → Keys. Create a client with the type you need. Copy the secret right away, because it is only shown once.
